MY WALKING WORLD  David Preston

The Brecon Beacons

09/06/07- I drove down to the Brecon Beacons early on Saturday morning, the plan was to climb some more Nuttalls over the weekend. I left the car park near the Neuadd Reservoir just before 10.30am and climbed up onto the ridge, it was then a good walk along to Corn Du, then Pen y Fan and Cribyn followed by Fan y Big. An excellent walk in good weather with excellent views although it was a little hazy now and again. I finished at around 3.30pm as I had planned to camp at Llandoverey it seemed a good idea to go via the A4069 and climb Garreg Lwyd which is a mere 2 miles there and back. Then it was over to the Erwlon Caravan and Camping Park at Llandoverey. An excellent place to stay within walking distance of the town

Rhododendron just below the Reservoir, very colourful as long as they do not escape
