MY WALKING WORLD - CADAIR IDRIS

21/01/06 This as a walk from the guidebook The Mountains of England and Wales - Volume 1 Wales by John and Anne Nuttall. The weather was excellent considering it was January, it was a 10 mile circular walk climbing the summits of Craig  Cwm Amarch, Cyfrwy, Cadair Idris, Mynydd Moel and Gau Graig with 3400 ft of ascent. The walk commenced from Minfford.

Craig Cwm Amarch

Looking across to Cadair Idris where I will be having my lunch later in the day

Looking from the summit of Craig Cwm Amarch with Cyfrwy on the left

Looking down on Llyn Cau with the ridge on the right that I had just climbed

Cyfrwy behind me

Looking across from Cyfrwy to the summit of Tyrrau Mawr where I will be the next day

Cloud rolling in - very impressive, it did not stay long

Looking back along the ridge to Cadair Idris

Down in the valley on the way back to the start point I passed this enormous boulder beside the track with a six inch vein running through it. The forces of nature must have been very powerful all those years ago
