Walking Log of David Preston

14/03/04 - todays walk was more local, the weather was not good with strong winds and blustery showers so I decided to try a different area that was not quite as far to travel- The Clwydian Hills near Mold- The walk was around 8 miles with good views across to the coast from the ridge, I parked in the village of Cilcain just outside Mold.

It was a steady walk uphill until you get on top of the ridge, then it was an undulating walk along the ridge until I reached the Jubilee Tower, then a quick lunch and it was off down the hillside and out of the wind and back down to the pretty little village of Cilcain which had a lovely Church and Pub.

A scenic area and I am sure its one I will return to in the summer- 56 miles driving from Macclesfield
