MY WALKING WORLD

15/10/05
This weekend in Eskdale was organised by the 40sWalkersNorth- the friendly Internet based walking club. Around 18 members arrived in Eskdale and stayed at a variety of places - Hotels, B & Bs, Campsites and Youth Hostels.  Saturday evening was spent in the Brook House Hotel where we had an excellent meal- definitely recommended
On the way up Yeastyrigg Gill heading towards Ore Gap and then on to Esk Pike

Cloud was starting to drop and once on Esk Pike visibility was very limited

Looking down from Mickledore after leaving Scafell Pike. The infant River Esk wending its way over Great Moss

Some of the group on the way down

Looking back across Great Moss towards Esk Pike

The River Esk taken near the campsite as the sun was setting

The next day Sunday 16/10/05 - looking down from the bridleway near Brant Rigg on the climb up to Devoke Water

Dense bracken encountered while following Linbeck Gill up to Devoke Water

Looking across Devoke Water with Seat How on the far side, the water was quite choppy in the breeze

Getting closer to the Boat House and Seat How
