MY WALKING WORLD  David Preston

SNOWDONIA

The Snowdonia National Park in North Wales covers around 823 square miles  and has a population of around 26000.

The nine mountain ranges cover 52% of the area.

Within the Snowdonia National Park  there is wide variety of scenery varying from picturesque villages to hills  and high mountains. There are quiet beaches and bustling towns. Castles and Churches are everywhere. There is something here for everyone.

My inspiration for walking in Snowdonia came from the following book which lists all the summits over 2000ft (610m) in Wales. There are 188 and at the present moment I have climbed 149. The ones left are in Central and Southern Wales so my visits are not as frequent, however I hope to complete them by the middle of 2007
