David Preston's Walking Log

29/09/03 - Weather Sunny but cool

This weekend I was camping at Silecroft Caravan and Camping Park. The walk this saturday commenced from the campsite, through Silecroft village, past the church and up onto Black Coombe, a nice steady walk, it was then along the ridge and round to White Coombe. I then retraced my steps and climbed Stoupdale Head and then back across the north flank of Black Coombe and down to Hopegill Bridge.  I then continued along the track which ran south to Whitbeck, I then turned right and headed north west to Guttersby and down onto the beach. It was then a 3 mile walk along the beach to the campsite. This was a long walk but with magnificent views all day.

Distance - 16 miles
