MY WALKING WORLD

25/06/05
This Midsummer wild camp was organised by Phil Rees of the 40sWalkersNorth, 13 of us set off from Patterdale on the Saturday afternoon and camped on the summit of High Street 2718ft, there was ascent of 2450ft and the distance was almost 6 miles. The summit was fairly flat with plenty of good places to pitch your tent. We all carried at least 2 to 3 litres of water plus other refreshments. The following day we split into two groups and bagged a few summits on the way back. A very enjoyable weekend with excellent weather.

A bit of a gossip just before dusk

Packing up on Sunday morning

My pack is a bit lighter without the 2.5 litres of water and a can of Boddie's that I had drunk while on the mountain

Looking back at Hartsop Dodd from Low Hartsop, we had just descended the ridge

A lovely and peaceful lane on the way back to Patterdale
